First of all, I would like to tell you that this blog is quite different and contains complete information as per the candidate’s experiences.
What is PMA?
PMA stands for Pakistan Military Academy. PMA means Pakistan Military Academy under the 2nd lieutenant post. It is a premier military training institution in Pakistan where young individuals undergo training to become officers in the Pakistan Army.
How many times are jobs to be announced?
PMA Long Course jobs are announced two times within a year.
- Once in October-November
- Second in March-April
PMA Eligibility Criteria:
The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) eligibility criteria are as follows:
Nationality:To be eligible to join the PMA, you must be a Pakistani citizen, male, and between the ages of 17 and 22.
Marital Status: You must also be unmarried .
Qualification: You have completed intermediate or equivalent education with a minimum of 60% marks.
Physical Standard:
Height: You must have a minimum height of 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm).
Weight: Your weight should fall within the range specified by the body mass index (BMI).
Vision: You should have 6/6 vision in each eye, with or without the use of glasses or corrective lenses.
The physical fitness tests are designed to assess candidates’ cardiovascular fitness, strength, and endurance. Candidates who fail to meet the physical standards will not be eligible to join the PMA.
Online Registration:
You can apply online and at the AS&RC centre as well. After the application submission, you have to wait a maximum of two weeks for the roll number slip. After getting the slip, the candidate goes to the centre on the given test date and deposits Rs. 300/- in the centre, where all his original documents are checked. Finally, a test starts that will be totally computer-based. If you don’t have enough knowledge to run a computer, don’t worry; it’s quite easy. Firstly, the intelligence portion starts, and 50% marks are mandatory to qualify for the test. Last but not least, academic tests start that are totally based on general knowledge, Islamic study, math, and English. Here also 50% marks are needed to ace the exam.

In Which Tests Do Most Candidates Fail?
The academic test is the only one that is the most difficult part of the PMA Long Course because it’s an open-book test. There’s no specific syllabus for academics. But we provide notes in PDF and hard form that are to the point, and you can pass the exam very easily through our notes.
Initial Test:
The Initial Test of the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) is a computer-based test that assesses candidates’ academic and intellectual abilities
- Verbal 84 MCQ in 30 min
- Non-Verbal 64 MCQ in 30 min
- Academic 50 mcq in 30 min
This section tests candidates’ knowledge of English, mathematics, Pakistan studies, and Islamic studies.
Personality Test:
This section tests candidates’ personality traits, such as leadership, teamwork, and motivation.
How Much Time Is Required To Prepare For This Exam?
Only 15 days are enough to prepare for this exam. We also provide 15-day sessions for complete preparations with PDF notes, mock tests, and live classes via the Zoom app.
Failure Ratio of PMA Long Course Tests
- 50% of candidates fail the intelligence portion because they can’t manage time.
- 10% of candidates fail the medical and physical tests because of a lack of workout or natural phenomenon.
- 30% fail the initial interview because of lack of confidence, fear of speaking in English, pressurisation, or tenseness.
When will medical tests be conducted?
Mostly, medical tests are to be taken on the same day as intelligence tests. If not, then the very next day will be taken.
Physical Test Date:
After the medical, they tell the candidates about the physical test. It may take 4 to 5 days.
Physical and Medical Examination:
If you pass the initial test, you will undergo a physical fitness test and a medical examination at the AS&RC
Physical fitness test:
The first component involves a 6-kilometer run.The test also includes push-ups, which measure upper body strength, and sit-ups, gauging core strength and endurance. Additionally, chin-ups are incorporated to assess upper body and arm strength. These components collectively provide a holistic assessment of a candidate’s physical readiness and suitability for the military, ensuring that they are prepared for the physical demands of service.
Medical examination:
The medical examination assesses candidates’ overall health and ensures that they are free of any medical conditions that would prevent them from serving in the military. The examination includes a general physical examination, blood tests, urine tests, and X-rays.
Candidates who pass the physical and medical examination will be eligible to proceed to the next stage of the PMA selection process.
Initial Interview?
After the physical and medical tests, they can tell us the interview date or say that we’ll call you for the interview. Most interviews are conducted after one week. Those who pass the interview get the ISSB form, which they can submit at any time until the last day of the test.
ISSB Interview
The Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) interview is the final stage of the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) selection process. The interview is conducted by a panel of officers and is designed to assess candidates’ personality traits, such as leadership, teamwork, and motivation.
Psychological Test:
The psychological tests are scored by a qualified psychologist, and the results are used to help the selection board make a decision about whether or not to offer the candidate admission to the PMA Long Course.
Final Selection:
Candidates who are selected for the PMA Long Course will be offered admission to the academy. The PMA Long Course is a three-year program that trains cadets to become officers in the Pakistan Army.
Commission:
Once you have successfully completed your training at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), you will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Pakistan Army.
Tips before applying:
Maintain your physical fitness, join the gym, or do daily running.
Examine yourself medically and fix it if you have any problems like knee knocking, flat feet, etc.
Start preparation with the intelligence portion and pay more attention to the academic portion.

Dressing for the Intelligence Test?
You can wear any kind of dress while going for an intelligence test. But on the day of the interview, it’s compulsory to get well dressed, like a two-piece, three-piece, or Shalwar Qameez with a waistcoat (all the things should be neat and clean). Good dressing brings confidence.
Hair and Beard Cutting:
- Try a fresh hair cut (avoid fouji cutting).
- Maintain a beard (no need to shave).
- Keep clean nails
- Take a fresh bath.
Documents Requirement:
Originals and certified copies of the following records:
- Matriculation certificate
- FSc certificate
- Domicile certificate
- CNIC of the candidate and their father
- Computerized roll number slip
- Prospectus fee
- Check to make sure all of your documents are authentic and attested.
- Make sure that your documents are in good condition and are easy to read.
