What is DSSC?

DSSC stands for Direct Short Service Commission in the Pakistan Army. It is a type of commission in the Pakistani military that allows individuals to serve as officers for a relatively shorter duration compared to regular commissions. DSSC Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) in the Pakistan Army are as follows:

Gender: Male

Marital status: Married or unmarried

Nationality: Pakistani citizen and domiciled in Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, or Gilgit-Baltistan

Age: 28 years 

Physical Standard

  • The minimum height requirement is 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 centimeters)
  • The weight requirement is determined based on the Body Mass Index (BMI).
  • You must have good eyesight, with a vision of 6/6 in each eye without glasses.
  • You must not have color blindness.
  • You must have no obvious physical defects

Qualification Requirement

  • In science subjects, you must have a minimum score of 60% in the annual system or 2.5 CGPA.
  • In arts subjects, you must have a minimum score of 50% or 2.0 CGPA.
  • For law and psychology, you must have a minimum CGPA of 2 out of 4 or 50%.
  • You must have no third division of Grade D and only one second division of Grade C throughout your academic career (MA/MSc/BS).
  • Preference will be given to MPhil/MS/PhD candidates.
  • You must have graduated from HEC-recognized institutions or from foreign institutions recognized by HEC.
  • You must have been a regular student from matriculation through MA/MSc/BS.
  • Private candidates are not eligible.

Online Registration

To register for DSSC in the Pakistan Army, you can either:

Register online at joinpakarmy.gov.pk.or Visit your nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Center (ASRC) .

Documents Requirement

  • Original academic certificates/degrees/diplomas with two sets of attested photocopies.
  • NOC from your current employer (if you are serving).
  • Attested photocopy of domicile.
  • Photocopies of your computerized National Identity Card (NIC).
  • Six colored photos properly attested (front and back).
  • Evidence that your degrees have been verified by HEC/PEC.

Selection Procedure

The Army Selection and Recruitment Centers will administer academic and intelligence tests with multiple choice questions on the date designated by the computer system as part of the Army registration procedure.

Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs) will conduct the initial medical examinations

 If a candidate is still unable to pass the medical examination, they may not be eligible to join the DSSC.

Physical Test:

The physical test consists of running, push-ups, chin-ups, and sit-ups.

The physical fitness test for DSSC in the Pakistan Army requires candidates to complete the following events in the specified time:

 

Running

1.6 km run  9 minutes

push-ups

10 Repetitions

2  minutes

chin-ups 2 Repetitions

2 minutes

sit-ups

10 Repetitions

2  minutes

After being selected by AS&RCs, candidates will undergo interviews with the GHQ Selection Board, held in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. Subsequently, they will undergo medical examinations at nearby CMHS facilities. Final selection will be determined at GHQ based on the candidates’ overall performance.
