PAF stands for Pakistan Air Force. Aeronautical engineers in the PAF play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and development of advanced aircraft and aviation systems. They are in charge of a variety of duties, such as:

  1. Designing, developing, and testing new aircraft and aviation systems
  2. Maintaining and repairing existing aircraft and aviation systems
  3. Conducting research and development to improve the performance and capabilities of aircraft and aviation systems
  4. Supervising and managing teams of technicians and engineers

Aeronautical engineers in the PAF have a bright future ahead of them. They can rise to senior positions in the PAF and lead teams of engineers and technicians. They can also work in the civilian aerospace industry or in academia.

Aeronautical Engineer Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria to Join PAF as an Aeronautical Engineer:

Marital status: Unmarried

Age: 16-22 years

Nationality: Pakistani (domicile holders of Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also eligible)

Dual nationality: Candidates with dual nationality must surrender the other nationality before joining the PAF.

Height: Minimum 4 feet 10 inches/147 cm

Weight: According to body mass index

Ineligibility Conditions

  1. The Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB) has twice rejected applicants.
  2. Candidates who have been dismissed, removed, or debarred from any government service
  3. Candidates who have been declared medically unfit by the Appeal Medical Board (AMB)
  4. Candidates who have been convicted in a court of law for any heinous offence
  5. Candidates who have a previous record of involving in any offensive, unofficial, or illegal activity by the court
  6. Candidates who have been dismissed, removed, or debarred from the armed forces, Pakistan Army, Navy, or PAF
  7. Candidates who have withdrawn from any bonded armed forces college or from an armed forces institution on disciplinary grounds
  8. Candidates who have withdrawn, discharged, resigned, or purchased a commission from any armed forces officers academy or armed forces training institution on any ground

Qualifications

Educational Requirements to Join PAF as an Aeronautical Engineer:

Intermediate (FSc Pre-Engineering with Chemistry) or A-Level with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, with a minimum of 65% marks.

Online Registration:

Candidates can apply online for the  Aeronautical Engineer: through the official website www.join.paf.gov.pk.of the Pakistan Army by filling out an online application form.The test date and time will be emailed to candidates. Candidates must report on the date and time given for the preliminary tests with their computerized roll number slip. The test date cannot be changed. Candidates must also bring the documents mentioned in paragraph 6 and pay the prospectus fee on the day of the test. Candidates must have basic computer skills..

Aeronautical Engineer Test Syllabus

Intelligence Test  (verbal+Non Verbal),English Test,Physics Test and Math Test.

Intelligence Test: 100 questions / 40 minutes / 60% passing percentage

Physics  Test  :     50 questions / 25 minutes / 60% passing percentage

Math Test  :           50 questions / 25 minutes / 60% passing percentage

English Test  :       75 questions / 35 minutes / 60% passing percentage

PAF Aeronautical Engineering Training

After passing the written test and interview, selected candidates will undergo a 3½-year training program at the College of Aeronautical Engineering (CAE) at the PAF Academy in Risalpur. Upon successful completion of the training program, candidates will be commissioned as officers in the PAF and awarded a BE degree in Aerospace or Avionics.

Documents Requirement

Required documents to join PAF as Aeronautical Engineer:

  • Original Intermediate mark sheet
  • HOPE certificate from the Head of Institute (HoD) if you have passed Intermediate Part-1 and are waiting for the result of Part-2, or if you have to give the examinations of Part-2. The final result must be submitted after it is declared.
  • Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) for candidates aged 18 years and above.
  • Computerized Form B with guardian’s CNIC (father or mother) for candidates under 18 years of age.
  • Each of the following documents’ photocopies have been attested.
  • Three passport-size colored photos attested (front and back) by the Principal or a Class-1 Gazetted Officer.
  • For repeat candidates, the original and one photocopy of the not recommended letter from the ISSB.
